【What is a chiming watch?】
A chiming watch is a mechanical timepiece capable of automatically sounding the time. Powered by a complex and precise mechanical system, it includes an independent chiming mainspring, hammer, and gong, allowing it to chime without manual operation. Common types include repeater watches (minute and quarter repeaters), chiming watches (grande and petite sonnerie), and mechanical alarm watches. Among these, chiming watches are known for their intricate structures and high level of craftsmanship.
Our watch uses an hour-striking chiming mechanism that automatically chimes once every hour—simple, elegant, and practical.
We’ve long pondered how to present the intricate mechanical beauty of a chiming watch more directly to the wearer. Now, we’ve created a completely new solution: unlike traditional chiming watches that conceal the hammer mechanism within the movement, we’ve introduced a clever open-window design on the sapphire crystal dial (Mohs hardness 9), allowing the hammer’s striking motion to be fully visible.
From this moment on, sound is no longer just an auditory experience—it becomes a visual, dynamic language.
At every hour, as the hammer visibly strikes the gong, you can see the sound of time unfolding before your eyes. This fusion of “visible sound” and “audible time” offers a brand-new sensory experience for traditional mechanical chiming.

This hour-chiming watch is powered by DELCONA newly developed in-house movement, the CAL.DCN05 automatic mechanical caliber. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, with a daily accuracy strictly controlled within ±15 seconds.
After integrating the complex hour-chiming module (which triggers a single chime precisely on the hour), it still maintains a power reserve of 38 hours, delivering stable timekeeping and precise performance.
To ensure accurate hour-chiming, this DELCONA in-house movement employs a snail cam and lever system that precisely controls the timing of each hourly chime. As the hour approaches, the specially contoured snail cam accurately triggers the striking lever, which in turn drives the hammer to strike the gong with just the right amount of force—producing a clear and bright chime on the hour.
To make the chime sound even more pleasant, we tested various combinations of hammer and gong materials. After extensive sound testing, we chose a special alloy composition and paired it with a large-sized hammer and a semi-circular gong design. The result: a crisp, resonant chime that makes every hour a joy to hear.
As one of the timeless classic dial textures with a rich history, the sunburst dial is renowned for its refined texture and dynamic interplay of light.
The DELCONA sunburst dial is crafted through a precise radial brushing process. Each line radiates outward from the dial center like sun rays, creating distinct layers. When light grazes the surface, the texture forms an interplay of light and shadow that shifts dynamically with the viewing angle – presenting a uniform metallic finish when viewed vertically, while revealing three-dimensional depth when observed from the side. This significantly enriches the visual depth of the dial.
Hour Hand
The dauphine hands on the dial trace their origins to the mid-20th century haute horlogerie. An asymmetric diamond shape with luminous coating at the center enhances legibility, ensuring clear time reading even in the dim light of midnight.The sharply tapered tips guarantee precise alignment with the indexes, while the cleanly extended tails reach towards the edge of the scale for optimal clarity.
Engraved Details
The twelve applied bar indexes are meticulously polished, reflecting sharp, blade-like streaks of light under varying angles. At the center of the dial, the engraved brand logo serves as a refined and modern design highlight.
A silent/chiming mode switch is thoughtfully positioned on the side of the case, allowing you to easily toggle between modes at any time. In traditional watches, such buttons often disrupt the overall aesthetics of the case. To address this, our designers adopted a symmetry-driven approach, innovatively integrating the switch into the case’s contour. The result is a visually balanced and harmonious design.
When pressed, the precise internal mechanism instantly disengages the hammer from the gong, delivering true one-touch activation with immediate response. Key friction components are crafted from 316L stainless steel, ensuring smooth operation and significantly enhancing wear resistance—so the silent function remains consistently stable and reliable over time.
DELCONA employs a sapphire crystal with a Mohs hardness of 9—second only to diamond. Sapphire crystal has become the standard for high-end timepieces due to its exceptional hardness, scratch resistance, and remarkable clarity.
Its transparent nature allows the sunburst radial patterns on the dial to be clearly visible from any angle – the trajectory of the sweeping seconds hand and the subtle movements of the hammers striking the gongs are rendered in crystal-clear detail. Furthermore, the sapphire crystal also leverages its high density to effectively isolate against ambient noise interference, simultaneously delivering powerful and clear chime tones.
DELCONA offers a well-balanced wear with a 39mm case diameter and a slim 10.9mm thickness. The lugs are angled downward to follow the natural curve of the wrist, ensuring a comfortable fit for both smaller and larger wrists. With 50 meters of water resistance, the watch strikes a perfect balance between visual appeal and everyday practicality.
316L is the most commonly used material in high-end watches. It offers beauty, hardness, and corrosion resistance. When hand-polished by skilled watchmakers, it becomes even brighter and more luxurious, making it an ideal choice for premium timepieces.
Our watch straps are made of durable 316L stainless steel, with a high-hardness version featuring a rose gold PVD coating that further enhances overall wear resistance.
The innovative multi-link removable design allows for a perfect fit on different wrist sizes. The strap is equipped with a double push-button butterfly clasp, and each connecting part is chamfered and polished, reflecting a captivating metallic sheen under the light—fully embodying DELCONA dedication to watchmaking craftsmanship.
This watch features a multi-layer case crafted from 316L stainless steel, with the bezel intricately engraved using precision CNC machining to achieve densely detailed patterns at 0.1mm accuracy. The case undergoes a triple finishing process alternating between satin brushing, polishing, and chamfering, creating rich layers of texture under the light while sculpting a sleek and slim visual profile with refined lines.
